The wine and its label hold great significance for the Two Sisters Wine Company family, not only for the two future generations of two sisters who are in line to carry on the family’s wine tradition in the Barossa, but also represents the story of two families and two countries.
For the family, carrying on this tradition is important not only for its heritage, but also to provide wine lovers with a good bottle to enjoy with friends, family and food.
Meet the team
David Braunack
As the custodian of Christian Auricht's legacy, David is the driving force behind everything from growing the grapes, to overseeing the vineyards and viticultural process.
David is born and bred in the Barossa, and has also spent the last 30 plus years working in the Barossa Valley.
He is passionate about the area and its heritage as well as his own family's history in the region.
After working alongside many vineyard consultants, winemakers and viticulturists over the years, he has honed his knowledge and skills in all of these areas.
Leon Deans
Leon has joined the Two Sisters Wine family to help guide the winemaking process, and help elevate both the wines and the brand to a higher level.
Leon worked with many winemakers across a career spanning nearly fifty years. As (then) Company Winemaker in a large international business, a team approach was imperative in getting the best results out of the source vineyards. This approach has continued in Two Sisters with collaborations including Christa Deans (Sparkling & Riesling), Rolf Binder (The Fritz) and Tony Carapetis (Barossa reds).
A collaborative approach is essential in extracting unique wines of interest and genuine quality from individual vineyards even down to block level. Two Sisters is built around the rich and full flavoured red wines of the Barossa Valley, together with the fine world-class dry- Rieslings and supple cool climate Shiraz from Eden Valley.
Two Sisters have recently explored Adelaide Hills Pinot Meunier for high-end sparkling wine. The 2016 vintage has now been released.
